Installation of a 15km HDPE-lined steel process water pipeline system at a major copper mining operation, including booster pump stations, reservoir tie-ins and cathodic protection.
The Challenge
Aggressive water chemistry required corrosion-resistant solutions. Remote location with limited local resources and challenging rainy season logistics.
Our Solution
HDPE-lined steel pipe provided the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance of HDPE. Wetpipe mobilised with self-sufficient crews and prefabricated assemblies to maximise site efficiency.
The Outcome
Pipeline system commissioned 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Client reported 30% reduction in maintenance costs compared to previous unlined system.
